It is strongly suggested to use a custom Hud (Heads Up Display) instead of the default Q3F2 one.
If you wish to use a custom hud, extract py-hud.zip to your /Quake III Arena/Q3F2/ directory.
Once it is extracted, connect to a server and type /exec hud.cfg
