When promted, browse to the location of your Quake 3 folder (c:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\ is the default) ZIP - Unzip to your Quake 3 folder. (c:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\ is the default) Make sure you maintain the directory structure of the zip file. ____________________________________ PLAYING ALLIANCE WINDOWS (installer) - Double click the Alliance icon from either your desk top or your start / programs menu under the Alliance group. From there you will be able to use the server browser or start your own game. WINDOWS (zip) - Double click the Alliance.exe in your Quake 3 folder. From there you will be able to use the server browser or start your own game. Windows users may also use programs such as Gamespy or the All Seeing Eye to find Alliance servers. There is a gamespy tab provided. LINUX - Browse to your /alliance/linux folder. Select the alliance.sh. From there you will be able to use the server browser or start your own game. MAC - Run Quake 3, select the mods menu and Click Alliance. From there you will be able to use the server browser or start your own game. ___________________________________ RUNNING A DEDICATED SERVER WINDOWS (installer) - Double click the Alliance Server Launcher icon from either your desktop or from the Start / Programs menu under the Alliance group. You'll then be promted for game type, game mode and finally a starting map. WINDOWS (zip) - Double click the Alliance_d.exe in your Quake 3 folder. You'll then be promted for game type, game mode and finally a starting map. LINUX - Browse to your /alliance/linux folder. There you'll find 15 different .sh files to launch various types of Alliance servers. MAC - Run Quake 3, select the mods menu, Click Alliance and select StartServer. Then setup your server options, select the dedicated checkbox and start the server. ___________________________________ NEW IN 3.3 - Added support for 2 new game modes; Rail n' Rune and LMCTF - Fixed g_allianceFree(weapon) bugs to make Rail n' Rune possible - Fixed uneven heath in bases on actf19 - Fixed spawnpoints stuck in the wall on actf24 - Fixed grapple sounds on actf17 and actf24 Note: Using the Ref and CallVote menus to change game mode will now result in changing the pogo as well. By default, pogo is off for every mode except for Rail 'n Rune and Instagib. ___________________________________ NEW IN 3.21 - Fixed in-game overflows bug. This freed up a lot of bandwidth in the process. - Forced a minimum of :45 seconds for g_warmup. Smaller values were causing overflow problems at map-start. We still recommend all servers run with g_dowarmup 0.
